This is the longest night.
I love these days of darkness. It is warm and centering, a time for introspection, I think. And the long, long nights make each moment of sunshine more precious than at any other time of year.
Babies, however, are always precious :)

We were going out. We had a couple of stops to make, then Jordan’s drama class and then friends were coming back here afterward.
I carefully put together my shopping lists, worked out what I had to pack up, put together some snacks for the baby. Most importantly, I carefully made up a schedule of what to do and when, so that it would all come together and we’d be out the door right on time.
Obviously, I miscalculated.
