Karate, knitting woes and *shudder* crocs :P

This morning, after karate – wait. This morning, after Jordan got on the ice at SIX AM and played hockey for an hour and half, he came home, made pancakes (!!) and then we went to karate class… after THAT, he and I went to the maul to get him some base coat paint he needs for his WarHammer figures. We spent some time there and somehow he convinced me to buy him some Crocs *shudder*. Apparently, he neeeeeeeeeeeeds the ‘Beach Army Green’ ones to go with his new green camo pants. He also needed the yin/yang symbol charm thingy to go on them because “that is just so cool”. Ooookie dokie, then. After the maul, he played hockey/skated for another hour and a half.
Just as soon as I figure out how to bottle that energy, I’m going to be rich! RICH, I tell you!
The karate studio Jordan belongs to asked me about setting up a class for homeschoolers. I asked around for feedback, they set up a great programme and fee structure and even offered a free introductory class in December. The response has been great. The first class was today and it was full of kids of all ages.
This studio has been so good for Jordan. The camps this summer were amazing – but it is more than that. The whole experience has been a positive one for Jordan. He has benefitted in so many ways. This is why it was easy for me recommend the class to my homeschool community. And I like that. Sometimes the news is just too good NOT to share :)
Mavis Beacon has been teaching typing around here the last few days. I have to keep an eye on the clock, or Jordan will do it until his forearms ache. lol. He says he wants to learn to type so he can have his own blog – “because there have to be other people out there who want to read about video games and hockey!” hehehe. I was wondering… are there any webrings for homeschooled kids? hmmm.. I’ll have to look into that.
As for knitting? Well… that I haven’t melted down all my metal needles and used the bamboo ones for kindling is a wee bit of a miracle. This morning, I ripped out the hat I’ve been knitting… FOR THE SEVENTH TIME!!! It’s a basic, beginner level ribbed hat. I don’t know why I’m having so much trouble with it, but it is making me crazy! If I had any sense, I’d put it away for a few days and work on something else, but ummm.. no. I don’t have any sense :D
